Born 1952. Portway Road. Oldbury. In the heart of the Black Country and in the shadow of the Rowley Hills.
Three brothers and no sisters, I was educated at Causeway Green Infants and Juniors then Oldbury Grammar School before leaving aged 16 to follow my calling as a professional footballer starring at Swindon Town for 4 years.
I then returned to the Black Country and worked in the flooring trade ever since. I am currently married to Sue and have twin daughters, Gemma and Ruth. I had always written and drawn and when my father dies several years ago i decided to explore notions of identity through language.
My own Black Country Language.

“I believe we are involved in the most important cultural movement the Black Country has seen since the Black Country Night Out came on the scene years ago. We are contemporary storytellers, social historians and keepers of our legacy”
